The Flower Parade (Bloemencorso Bollenstreek) rides a 42-kilometre route through the Bollenstreek, the bulb-growing region between Leiden and Haarlem, about 40 kilometres from Amsterdam. On Saturday 17 April 2027 the floats leave Noordwijk at 9:00 and reach Haarlem around 21:30. The evening before, the illuminated parade rides in Noordwijkerhout, and on Sunday all floats are on display in Haarlem.

Where to watch the Flower Parade

You can watch the parade for free anywhere along the route. These tips help you pick the right spot:

See the floats up close: on Friday evening in Noordwijkerhout before the illuminated parade starts, on Saturday from 8:00 on Huis ter Duinstraat in Noordwijk, and all day Sunday in Haarlem.
A guaranteed view: book a grandstand seat. The grandstands sell out every year, especially the covered ones.
Busiest spots: Lisse centre and the road in front of Keukenhof in the afternoon. Arrive at least an hour early.
Quieter spots: Voorhout in the morning, and Hillegom or Bennebroek later in the afternoon.

Getting there on parade day

By car

Roads along the route close about two hours before the parade passes and reopen about an hour after. Arrive early and park outside the closed roads. The grandstands at Noordwijk Buiten, Lisse South and Lisse centre sell a parking ticket with your seat.

By train

Voorhout, Sassenheim, Hillegom, Heemstede-Aerdenhout and Haarlem have a train station within walking distance of the route. Noordwijk and Lisse have no station, and bus routes change on parade day, so allow extra time.

From Amsterdam
