*We try to predict the flowering of the flowers as well as possible. However, the bloom continues to be influenced by nature. Due to weather conditions the flowering process can be different than what we expect.
The blooming of the flowers at Keukenhof Gardens and other tulip show gardens is different from the blooming of the production flower fields. The flowers at the flower gardens have been specifically chosen to ensure that blooming flowers can be seen from the opening (19 March) to the closure (10 May) of the park. Also, the tulips are not headed so the tulips can be admired much longer in Keukenhof than on the production flower fields around the park. Keep in mind that even in show gardens, weather is an important factor and no guarantees can be made about the flowers blooming.
Check out the flowering on the Flower Map
The flower map below shows what the flower fields currently look like and where they are located. We will update the Flower Map every week with current photos of the blooms in the flower fields.
Weather forecast
Below is the current weather in Holland. During the Tulip Festival, we will also provide tips on activities to suit the weather conditions.

Tulip season is coming to a close — but there’s still time to enjoy the last days of Tulip Festival Amsterdam 2025. And with sunny spring weather in the forecast, it’s the perfect week for a colorful day out!
🌾 The Flower Fields Have Been Topped
All production tulip fields in the region have now been “topped” — this means the tulip heads are cut off early to allow the plant to focus its energy on growing strong, healthy bulbs for next season. While the fields are now green, it’s the start of something beautiful:
👉 You can now pre-order fresh Dutch tulip bulbs for next spring – shipped worldwide from October!
🌸 Where Can You Still See Blooming Tulips?
Although the production flower fields are done blooming, there are still stunning tulips to admire this week:
🌳 Keukenhof Gardens
This world-famous park still showcases late-blooming tulips, as well as countless flowering trees, shrubs and other spring flowers. The gardeners are working hard to keep everything beautiful — they’re even planting new blooms in some areas.
🎶 Don’t miss the Romance Weekend at Keukenhof (Saturday & Sunday) with live classical music performances throughout the park.
🖼️ Tulip Experience Amsterdam
Still home to late tulips fields and a wonderful indoor museum where you can discover the history and future of tulip growing in the Netherlands.

30 April | Still Plenty of Tulips to Enjoy!
We’re entering the final part of Tulip Festival Amsterdam, and it has been one of the most beautiful seasons in years — with lots of sunshine and cool spring nights creating ideal conditions for tulip blooming.
While most production fields are now topped and no longer in bloom, there are still several wonderful tulip attractions open to visitors.
🌷 Visit tulip attractions and combine them with a sightseeing tour
Keukenhof Gardens, Tulip Experience Amsterdam, and Tulip Farm De Tulperij remain open through Sunday 11 May. These locations offer beautifully maintained tulip show gardens, photo opportunities, and insights into the world of tulip growing.
Keukenhof Gardens in particular is now surrounded by fresh green trees and grass, making it a spectacular spring destination even in the final phase of the season.
🚲 You can visit one or more of these attractions as part of a sightseeing tour by bike, private van or Land Rover. Local guides know the best routes and combine scenic countryside with stops at tulip attractions that are still in bloom.

🌷 Why some tulip fields are already topped
In the bulb production fields, farmers have begun topping the flowers. This means the flower is removed from the stem so the plant can focus all its energy on growing strong, high-quality bulbs. These bulbs will be harvested in summer and shipped worldwide from September.

23 April | Tulip Season at its Peak
We are in the peak of Tulip Festival Amsterdam, and the tulip fields in the Bollenstreek are bursting with color. Most tulips are now in full bloom, creating stunning landscapes filled with vibrant reds, yellows, pinks, purples, and more. The sunny spring weather makes this the perfect moment for a Sightseeing tulip tour by bike, Land Rover or sightseeing tours – or a relaxing day in Keukenhof Gardens.
Now is the best time to visit!
Tulip season is at its absolute peak, and we expect blooming tulips fields until at least the end of April. The show gardens like Keukenhof will remain in full bloom until May 11.
Why some flower fields are being topped
As we move toward early May, some production fields will slowly disappear from the landscape. These tulips are being “topped”: the flower is removed from the stem so the plant’s energy can return to the bulb. This process ensures the high-quality flower bulbs the Bollenstreek is famous for.
Tickets and tours are selling out fast
This is the busiest period of tulip season. If you want to visit Keukenhof Gardens, rent a bike, or join a sightseeing tour – make sure to book in advance. While regular time slots may be sold out, combination tickets with transport or shuttle service may still be available.
Pre-order next season’s flower bulbs now
Want to enjoy tulips at home next spring? You can now pre-order the fresh harvest of tulip bulbs for delivery later this year.
We have also updated the Flower Map and will continue to refresh it weekly to provide the latest status of the flower fields.
Thanks to mild temperatures and plenty of sunshine, tulip blooming has been right on schedule this year. Most varieties reached full bloom around mid-April, and we expect colorful tulips to remain visible in both flower fields and show gardens through the end of April and into early May. The show gardens, such as Keukenhof, are designed to extend the blooming season and will remain in full color until May 11. In the production fields, topping will begin soon, but visitors can still enjoy the beauty of spring across the region for several more weeks.
15 April | Peak Bloom Has Arrived!
We’re now in the heart of Tulip Festival Amsterdam, and the Bollenstreek is more colorful than ever. Daffodils, hyacinths, and tulips are in full bloom across the flower fields and in show gardens like Keukenhof Gardens. The sunny spring weather is perfect for visiting the gardens or taking a sightseeing tour through the blooming landscapes.
Tulip season is at its peak, and we expect the best blooms to continue until the end of April. After that, production fields will be topped—the flower heads are removed so the energy goes to the bulbs. Don’t worry: tulips in show gardens like Keukenhof will remain in bloom until 11 May.
Planning to visit Keukenhof? Many days and timeslote are already sold out, especially during peak bloom. To avoid disappointment, book your tickets online in advance. Even if regular tickets are unavailable, there may still be combi-tickets with transport or shuttle options available. Check out your options here!
Thanks to mild temperatures and plenty of sunshine, blooming is perfectly on schedule for this time of year. This is the ideal time to experience the full glory of tulip season in the Bollenstreek, the heart of spring in the Netherlands.
8 April | Tulip Season in Full Swing
We are now well into the Tulip Festival Amsterdam, and with each passing day more tulips are bursting into bloom. The pleasant spring weather is creating ideal conditions for visiting Keukenhof Gardens and going on sightseeing tours along the flower fields.
Don’t forget that 12 April is Flower Parade Day! This spectacular parade winds through the Bollenstreek (Dutch Flower Region) and is a true highlight of the season. Whether you’re coming for the parade or simply to enjoy the vibrant colors, spring is in full swing and promises an unforgettable experience.
We have also updated the Flower Map and will continue to refresh it weekly to provide the latest status of the flower fields.
Thanks to mild temperatures and abundant sunshine, the tulip season remains on track with the average blooming schedule for this time of year. Now is the perfect time to plan your tulip adventure and soak up Holland’s spring in all its glory.
3 April | Time for Tulip Month April
We are now entering the third week of Tulip Festival Amsterdam. The first phase of blooming — with daffodils, hyacinths, and early tulips — is gradually transitioning into the second phase, as more and more tulips begin to bloom. The beautiful spring weather is creating perfect conditions for a visit to Keukenhof Gardens and a sightseeing tour along the flower fields.
The weather forecast for the coming week looks promising, with plenty of sunshine and rising temperatures. These conditions are ideal for tulip blooming. So far, the flowering is progressing according to the average blooming pattern for this time of year.
March 27 | One Week into Tulip Festival
Right now, many crocuses, daffodils, hyacinths, and early tulips are already blooming beautifully, creating vibrant landscapes at Keukenhof Gardens and across the surrounding flower fields. Flower growth is currently progressing at an average pace, promising plenty more colorful displays ahead.
Looking ahead, weather conditions will remain relatively cool but sunny intervals will be frequent. At this stage, we expect flowering to continue in line with the typical seasonal timeline, meaning more tulips will gradually burst into bloom in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for regular updates as the Tulip Festival unfolds!
March 20 | Tulip Festival 2025 has started!
Currently, many daffodils and crocuses are in full bloom. The first hyacinths and early tulips have also started to appear. Are you visiting Keukenhof gardens in the coming days? Be sure to explore the indoor tulip shows, where you can admire stunning tulip varieties in full bloom.
Flowering is currently following the average seasonal pattern. The upcoming days and nights will be slightly warmer, which will support flower growth. At this stage, we expect the blooming to continue in line with the typical flowering timeline.
March 13 | Countdown to Tulip Festival 2025
In just one week, the Tulip Festival will begin! The countdown is on, and nature is preparing for a spectacular start. While temperatures have dropped slightly in recent days, the sun is still shining, creating ideal conditions for steady flower growth. Right now, the flower fields are transforming with vibrant yellows from the daffodil fields, while crocuses add purple and white accents to the landscape. Hyacinths are beginning to emerge, and we may even spot the first early tulips in some areas. Despite the colder nights, spring flowers continue to develop beautifully.
With a week to go before the Keukenhof gardens and other tulip show gardens open, we expect a stunning display of daffodils, crocuses, hyacinths, and possibly early tulips to welcome visitors.
Looking further ahead, next week’s cooler temperatures might slightly slow down growth, but for now, we remain optimistic about a balanced and colorful start to the tulip season. We will keep monitoring the weather to see how it impacts the peak tulip bloom later in spring.
Stay tuned for more updates, and get ready to enjoy a breathtaking spring in the Netherlands! 🌷✨
March 6 | Just Two Weeks Until Tulip Festival!
In just two weeks, the Tulip Festival will begin! Thanks to a mild winter and the current beautiful spring weather, we’re expecting a spectacular start to the season. With daytime temperatures now well above 10°C and plenty of sunshine, we’re already seeing the first colors appear in the flower fields. At the moment, it’s mostly the early daffodil fields turning yellow. However, cold nights are still slightly slowing down overall flower growth.
With sunny weather and mild temperatures, we expect steady flower growth in the coming week. Blooming is currently about one week ahead of the average schedule, meaning that by the festival’s opening, we anticipate a vibrant display of daffodils, crocuses, hyacinths, and possibly even some early tulips. A perfect way to welcome spring!
For the main tulip season, predictions remain uncertain. Weather forecasts indicate colder temperatures next week, which could slow down growth. At this stage, we still expect tulips to bloom around their average schedule, but we will continue to monitor conditions closely.
20 February | Spring is on its way
Spring is coming, and excitement for Tulip Festival Amsterdam 2025 is growing! With just one month until the official opening on March 20, the first signs of spring are already appearing. Early crocuses and daffodils are emerging, and with mild temperatures expected to continue, we may see an early tulip bloom this year.
While tulip blooming is still dependent on the weather conditions in March, April, and May, we expect that by the opening day on March 20, there will be plenty of beautiful flowers to admire – and possibly even some early tulips. For the bloom period until May 11, we will continue to monitor the weather closely and provide updates as the season progresses.
16 January 2025 | Tulip bulbs planted and ready for spring
Millions of flower bulbs have been planted and are now resting during their winter hibernation. In the flower fields, a layer of straw protects the bulbs from potential frost. Over the past months, planting conditions were favorable, allowing the bulbs to root well. The weather forecast for the coming month looks promising, with moderately cold temperatures.
However, it is still too early to make an accurate prediction about the bloom this spring. We will share an update on flowering conditions in early February. Stay tuned by following us on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
21 November 2024 | 🌷 Bulb planting in full swing
Over the past few weeks, we’ve had perfect weather for planting flower bulbs. Both the hand planting of 7 million bulbs at Keukenhof Gardens and the machine planting of the tulip fields are progressing on schedule. Planting is expected to continue until Christmas, ensuring a breathtakingly colorful landscape this spring.
The blooming period of flowers in spring depends heavily on weather conditions. At this moment, we cannot make exact predictions, so we rely on the average blooming periods. In the show gardens, blooming flowers can typically be admired throughout the season, as these gardens plant bulbs with varying blooming times. Below, you’ll find an overview of the average and expected blooming periods for flowers in Holland.
